How to (not) ruin your career

There are quite a number of things one can do to begin the end of one's career.
You can choose the wrong job.
Or you can join the wrong company.
You can take on the wrong project.
Or you can make the wrong decision.
However, none of these are the causes of a ruined career.
You  ruin your career simply by giving up.

It's not over until you say so.

Yes. That scandal has scarred your name. True, that decision landed you in hot trouble. However, nothing can end a career. Only you can. The industry may not like you, so rebuild your relationships. Your fans may abhor you: so redeem your image. Your name may be sullied, but you can reshape its meaning by keeping your nose to the grindstone and having another go.

Don't ruin your career by ending it.
